加拿达国际少儿英文学校-东山学校

射箭课
  8月30日晚上，加拿达国际少儿英文学校-东山学校外教Moises带领学员们来到一宫ZK射箭馆，学习有趣的射箭课程。
  教练和外教给孩子们讲解、示范射箭动作流程及注意事项。学员们双腿一前一后站定，左臂撑弓平直稳健，右臂上箭并用力拉弦，弓如满月，全身一动不动地伫立，瞄准目标准备射箭。实战出真知，经过一个小时的学习，射箭的基本要领已烙印在大家心里。

  射箭，是强健体魄、提高注意力和提升心理素质的一种有效手段。对于部分孩子来说，可能只在电视节目或杂志中见识过，既熟悉又陌生。这次东山学校的射箭课程坚持以学生兴趣为导向，不仅锻炼了学员们的臂、腰、腿部力量和胸背肌肉，还使大脑皮层的兴奋和抑制过程更加集中，提高注意力，培养他们顽强、果断、勇于克服困难的意志品质。学员们们非常喜欢这样的课程，玩得不亦乐乎。

咖啡文化课
  9月17日 ，加拿达国际少儿英文学校-东山学校B48班的孩子们和外教Gerry一起来到学校旁边的Always咖啡厅，运用日常英语，学习美味的咖啡文化。
  外教围绕用餐重点讲解点餐的礼仪、咖啡的历史、冲泡咖啡和拉花的方法。孩子们认真学习菜单上各种食物的英语名称，灵活运用文明用语点餐。“浪费食物会污染环境。”美味的食物上桌之后，外教还不忘在日常生活中巩固孩子的节约意识。
  这种真实的咖啡厅环境有利于创设自然的英语会话情景，拓展英语思维，培养学员们的自我表现欲，帮助他们多方面、多层次理解所学知识，提高会话交际能力，将学到的知识快速应用到日常生活中并进一步巩固提升。

Outdoor Class
Canadian International Kids’ English - Dongshan

CIEO’s Canadian International Kids’ English - Dongshan (CTC-DS) adheres to a combination of Chinese and western ideas with international diversity of characteristics, humanistic guidance on students' ideas. In this way we can meet the development needs of students' physical and mental abilities to cultivate global citizens with traditional Chinese culture and international perspective.

Archery
August 30, CTC-DS students took part in archery with their foreign teacher Moises gathered at the ZK Archery Hall.

ZK’s archery coach and the foreign teacher provided explanation and demonstration to students on the proper procedure for shooting and for safety precautions. After an hour of study our students were quite able to grasp the core ideas involved in archery.

Archery is good means to exercise the body and enhance attention spans. For most children bows and arrows are something they know only from TV.  This archery experience offered students a chance to try something new which helps in muscle development, tests their willpower and requires perserverance to learn in overcoming its inherent difficulty – archery is definitely not easy! Our students from Dongshan had a blast!

Coffee Culture
On September，17th， the B48 class from Dongshan attended an outdoor lesson about coffee culture with Teacher Gerry at the Always Cafe near the school.

Foreign teachers helped children focus on the etiquette of eating and on the proper method of ordering.  They also shared the historical origins of coffee drinking and brewing. Students were tasked with learning English names of the various items on the menu and using polite language to order.

This real-world environment helps authenticate natural English conversation situations and the development of English thinking in to daily life.  Outdoor classes like this are a great example of CIEO’s aims for its English study.
